marc jacobs dot perfume

Happy Easter Everyone!! I'm a little bit perfume obsessed, and I've written a few other posts on my favourite fragrances that I own before. But I haven't tried a new perfume for a while so I was morethan happy to try something new when Debenhams offered to send me a bottle of my choice.

I actually used to work as a Fragrance Sales Assistant at Debenhams so I already knew what fragrances I did and didn't like. I am a big Marc Jacobs fan, and I love all his perfumes (except Lola.. yuk!) so I decided to pick his newest release; Dot.

Dot by Marc Jacobs was inspired by his love of polka dots, and the man himself once said "I don't think there is ever a wrong time for a polka dot". And I can't say I disagree, I love polka dots! The bottle is sphere shaped and made from red glass, with little polka dot butterflies attached to the sides. The bottle reminds me more of a ladybird than a butterfly, but the lid of the bottle is also a very big butterfly.

The lid is a little OTT if I'm honest, but the bottle itself overall is very eye catching and interesting. It has a nice gold metal plaque on the front of the bottle with the perfume name on it. Don't you hate it when perfume bottles don't have the name of it on there?! The perfume came in a cute little black and red polka dot box too. My version is the 50ml size, but a much simpler design is available for the little 30ml, with a clear glass bottle and just one little butterfly.

The perfume scent I love! It's hard for me to describe it, but it's slightly sweet and fruity, which is exactly how I like my perfumes! I don't like anything too girly and sweet, nor musky, and this one is fresh without being too shower gel smelling. I don't know if any of that made much sense.. but for me it is pretty much perfect! In my opinion I think it's wearable for both daytime and evening, and it reminds me of summer.

If that didn't make much sense, this is the official fragrance description:
"Dot opens with a delectable blend of red berries, succulent dragon fruit and sweet honeysuckle. The floral heart of the fragrance blooms with addictive jasmine and notes of coconut water and orange blossom. The base of the fragrance is a feminine mix of creamy vanilla, driftwood and sensual musks. A lush, juicy floral that comes full circle with a balance of modern whimsy and classic elegance; happy and vivacious."

I love this perfume, and it's definitely a new favourite, along with my much loved Jimmy Choo EDP. It retails for £47 for this 50ml at Debenhams, but they currently have 10% off!
